Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is an ambitious, forward thinking London Borough with a substantial growth and regeneration agenda. Our ambition is matched by our strong desire to work with our communities to deliver these improvements whilst continuing to preserve and enhance our historical buildings, parks and gardens and remain one of the best shopping destinations to visit in the UK.  Our offices are located in the town centre just a few steps from the ancient market, thriving town centre and the waterfront.

Background

The Business Support Service was created in January 2013 bringing together many of the day to day support functions from across the organisation and centralising into one service. We have just completed our first major restructure, creating two key functions in the new service.  One function is focussed on operational delivery of administrative support across all areas within the Council, and the other on continuous improvement, developing a culture of innovation and efficient delivery across the services.  As a service we are extremely proud to have successfully been accredited four years in a row with the world renowned ISO9001:2015 standard, which illustrates our commitment to quality standards.

Aim of the Service

Business Support is an efficient and supportive service delivery partner. We create an enabling culture that ensures the highest standards of support. We apply creative thinking and innovation to encourage continuous improvement, ensuring Council services are delivered efficiently and to the benefit of the communities we serve.
