About the role

This role will cover mental health promotion and mental illness prevention including suicide prevention as well as supporting the development of Kingston’s Time to Change Hub in order to challenge the stigma associated with mental disorders, along with key local partners and service users. The post will be based in the public health team in the Communities Directorate.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in public health/ health promotion to drive forward action to improve health and wellbeing in Kingston. The post holder will lead on the implementation of ‘Wellbeing and Prevention’ theme of Thrive Kingston, Kingston mental health strategy. This will include build the capacity, skills and knowledge of residents of all ages, frontline staff, community groups, employers and schools to promote mental health and understand mental ill health.
