Library Customer Service Officer: Hook Library
18 hours per week
Grade C + 2: £9187.50 - £9640.50 Pro Rata pa (£18,375–£19,281 FTE)

In Kingston we believe libraries are the community spaces which bring people together. We have invested in our 7 libraries with new self-service technology, new furniture and a new ways of working. We are customer focused, delivering high quality customer service alongside a passion for reading and learning.

If you are flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude, a thirst for change and a drive to make a difference then you need to join us! You will enjoy working with the public and have experience in a customer facing role in retail or a similar environment involving face to face contact with the public.

You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build strong customer relationships. Excellent ICT skills are important to us as we support communities to use our wide range of online resources and to be digitally confident. You will promote and contribute to the extensive library offer we deliver both in library spaces and in the community. You will enjoy working as part of a team in libraries which are well used and well loved, each with a strong neighbourhood identity and community focus.

The hours are worked according to a shift pattern including late working until 7/8pm one evening a week and alternate Saturdays for which extra increments are included in the salary.
