Health and Safety Manager - Shared and Traded HR Services
Salary: Grade J - £44,790 - £49,827 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 36, Full-time post but job share arrangements will be considered
Location: Post holder will be required to work across Kingston and Sutton Councils

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive HR and Organisational Development (OD) Shared Service that focuses on our customers’ needs across Kingston Council, Sutton Council and our traded services. About the role
The role reports directly to the Corporate Head of HR Shared and Traded Services, and is directly responsible for a team of Health and Safety Consultants.

Our existing shared service between Kingston and Sutton Councils provides HR and Organisational Development services to both Councils and trades services with 7 external customers and over 200 schools across 4 councils.

The Health and Safety Manager works as part of the HR & OD Service and supports the HR Shared and Traded Services and Head of Organisational Development to ensure that Kingston and Sutton Councils adhere to their Health & Safety obligations. The role requires close working with FM/assets in Sutton and property in Kingston as well as with managers and trade unions in each council.

The Health and Safety Manager will provide leadership for an advisory, consultancy, support and training service to all corporate services and maintained schools to enable them to comply with appropriate Health and Safety requirements, council policies and procedures, and lead the team to identify the need for Health & Safety interventions and to provide or commission advice, support and enhanced solutions, as appropriate.

About you
We are looking for someone with substantial health & safety experience of working in large and complex organisations, with experience of delivering successful health & safety interventions to a varied range of stakeholders.

In addition you’ll have significant experience of advising and supporting all levels of management and staff in all disciplines relating to Health & Safety.
