The Kingston Stronger Together (KST) Covid-19 Community Response Hub was set up in response to the Covid-19 pandemic to support residents of Kingston on the Government’s shielding list, those who’re clinically vulnerable and those who need to self isolate due to being symptomatic or testing positive to Covid-19. KST is formed of partners from across RBK, Kingston Voluntary Action, Volunteering Kingston, Your Healthcare, Kingston CCG, Kingston Hospital, Voluntary and Faith Groups and is strategically led by Kingston’s emergency GOLD command strategic partnership.

Since March 2020, the KST partnership has coordinated and responded to the needs of the most vulnerable people within the community who have been impacted by Covid-19. Strong partnerships have formed with statutory and community providers working together to respond to complex new and emerging needs such as food insecurity and financial vulnerabilities as well as the huge efforts of mobilising a community workforce of volunteers.

About the role
This exciting post will be responsible for leading a programme of work responding to sections of the local population’s food, prescription medicine and essential supplies needs in response to emerging and changing needs related to the Covid-19 Pandemic. They will develop strategic relationships with partner agencies to influence and mobilise local efforts of community support, donations and services the Council may refer vulnerable residents to in the community. They will also deliver specific projects that aim to tackle emerging issues such as food insecurity and financial difficulty to alleviate and reduce inequalities in accordance with Government guidance around food and essential supplies for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The post holder will also work with the voluntary sector to respond to emerging needs identified by the Community Response Hub.

About you
The person will need strong interpersonal skills for developing partnership projects and be able to manage a team of deployed staff and volunteers.
