Housing Allocations Officer (Tier 1)
Grade: F/G Sp 25-34 (£24,999 - £32,637)
Appointment type: One year fixed-term contract
Location (main office) - Guildhall 2, Kingston Upon Thames 
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week.

Candidates must be able to work outside of normal hours to ensure provision of emergency accommodation to homeless households. Working outside normal office hours Monday to Friday 5-7pm an a rota basis. 

About the role
This is a varied and busy role within the Allocations Team, as one of six officers you will be responsible for the allocation of all types of permanent social housing and temporary accommodation including; Council and Registered Provider (housing association) homes, emergency nightly paid accommodation, Council owned hostel accommodation, Privately Leased accommodation and properties let as Private Rented Sector Offers (PRSOs).

In this challenging and rewarding role you will be responsible for all aspects of day to day service delivery including meeting key performance indicators in the nomination of applicants to void lettings. You will also be responsible for promoting mobility schemes available to Kingston Housing Register applicants, responding to customers enquiries regarding their accommodation needs, conducting home visits to customers and negotiating with providers to secure accommodation on an emergency basis. You will build and maintain relationships with a range of services and providers and help develop new opportunities to meet growing demand. As part of the Accommodation Services Team within Community Housing, you will drive our commitment to excellent customer service and work collaboratively with colleagues to support tenancy sustainment, helping to meet a wide range of housing needs, ensuring compliance with the Council's Housing Allocations Scheme and all relevant statutory housing duties.

Most importantly, you will be passionate about customer service and delivering services that make a positive difference.
